1.Surgical Strike

Indian Soldiers had crossed LOC as on 29th September, 2016 and successfully launched surgical strike at Pak occupied Kashmir. In this operation Indian soldiers killed about 38 terrorists and 2 Pakistani soldiers. The surgical strike is termed as revenge of Indian army after Uri attack of Pakistani terrorist where 18 Indian Jawans were killed.


On November 08 , 2016 Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced about Governments  decision of scraping Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes and he had also declared that these notes had lost legal validity since 8th November, 2016 . People were asked to deposit all scraped notes in bank by 31/12/16.

3.Donald Trump elected as American President

Republican Party candidate American business tycoon Donald Trump won Presidential election of USA as on November 09, 2016. He would sworn in as 45th President of USA as on 20/01/2017. Donald Trump received 304 electoral votes while his Democratic party rival Hilary Clinton received 227 electoral votes.

4.Death of Fiedel Castro

Revolutionary leader Fiedel Castro died on 25th November, 2016. Fiedel Castro governed the Latin American Country Cuba for almost five decades as Prime Minister and President. He was born on 13 August of 1926 in Biran, Oriente province of Cuba.

5.Novel Prize of Bob Dylan

Popular singer and song writer Bob Dylan was awarded Nobel Prize for literature in the year 2016. Dylan is famous for his unique style. It was most surprising moment of Novel prize declaration of 2016. The Prestigious prize was awarded to Bob Dylan for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.

6.Death of Muhammad Ali

Great heavyweight boxer Muhammad Ali died on June 3, 2016 at the age of 74. Real name of Muhammad Ali was Cassius Marcellus Clay. He was born on January 17, 1942 in Louisville, USA. Later on he converted to Islam and became Muhammad Ali. You would be amazed to know that he served as the USA Ambassador to Russia.

7.Brazil President Dilma Rousseff impeached

Brazil President Dilma Rousseff was impeached from office on the charge of corruption. Ms Rousseff was born on 14.12.1947 .She was 36th  President of Brazil and first woman President who was in office as President from January 2011 to August 2016. Ms Rousseff denied all allegations labeled against her.

9.Olympic Medals by P.V.Sindhu and Shakshi Mallik

Performances of Indian Athletes was good at Rio Olympic, 2016 but India had failed to gather more medals than London Olympic 2012. Indian Badminton Player P.V.Sindhu won a Silver medal .She is 21 years old and youngest Indian to win a Olympic medal.

Shakshi Mallick won a Bronze medal in women’s Wrestling. Though Indian female gymnast Dipa Karmakar missed bronze medal by just 0.15 points but her Produnova vault won the hearts of millions across the world. Produnova vault is termed as most difficult and risky vault in gymnastic.

10.Sucess of ISRO and DRDA

2016 was a year of success for ISRO ( Indian Space Research Organisation). On 22nd June ,2016 ISRO successfully launched 20 satellites in space on PSLV-XL. On 26th September ,2016 ISRO’s  PSLV-C35 successfully launched eight satellites into two different orbits . On 7th December ,2016 ISRO successfully launched  PSLV-C36 with RESOURCESTAT 2A.

On 26th December ,2016 DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation)conducted a successful test of long range surface to surface ballistic missile Agni-v which is nuclear capable.
