UIDAI has  generated  111 crore Aadhaar card so far

111 crore people now have digital identification in form of Aadhaar in India . The Unified Payments Interface (UPI), has also been integrated with Aadhaar Enabled Payment System.
Government will soon roll out Aadhaar Pay service that will enable people to make and receive payments using their Aadhaar number and biometrics .

Virat Kohli breaks records of Sir Don Bradman and Rahul Dravid.

Indian captain Virat Kohli breaks records of Sir Don Bradman and Rahul Dravid by becoming the first batsman to score double hundreds in four successive Test series. Bradman and Dravid had achieved the success in three consecutive test series.

Kohli hit his maiden double hundred against the West Indies in July 2016 then 211 runs against New Zealand at Indore in October 2016 . Thereafter he scored 235 runs  against England in Mumbai in December 2016 which is his individual highest score  and now 204 runs against Bangladesh.

India won T20 Blind World Cup at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium. 

India and Pakistan played final match of T20 Blind World Cup. India achieved the victory target of 198-runs in the 18th over in the final of the tournament. Pakistan had scored 197 for 8 in their 20 overs.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the team for winning the Twenty 20 World Cup in Bengaluru .

 World tallest sand castle created by Sudarsan Pattnaik

Famous sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik created a Guinness World Record by building the World’s tallest sand castle (14.84 metre) at the Puri beach in Odisha.

ISRO launches 104 Satellites at one go

ISRO launched 104 satellites , among which three are Indian and 101 are foreign smaller satellites.
The space agency used the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) for the launch. PSLV carried a 714 kg main satellite  and 103 smaller “nano satellites” which weighed a combined 664 kg.

Karnakata passed bill for Kambala

Following Tamilnadu assembly passing bill for Jalikattu ,Karnakata assembly now passed Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Karnataka Amendment) Bill 2017  to legalize  traditional Kambala.Kambala is traditional buffalo race held in Karnataka annually .

Edappadi K Palaniswami sworn in new Tamlnadu CM

Edappadi K Palaniswami has sworn in new Tamilnadu CM as on 16 th February . He has won trust vote  by 122-11 while 88 MLAs of opposition DMK walked out of assembly during voting.
